BODYTOOLS IS A WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR PROFESSIONAL ARTISTES/PERFORMERS - ACTORS, DANCERS, MOVEMENT ARTISTES, SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS, THEATRE ARTISTES, AND PERSONS INTERESTED IN PERFORMANCE WHO ARE SEEKING TO FIND THEIR PHYSICAL EXPRESSION.
what we do
Which portion of your back do you twist and turn while depicting a certain character? Where from the legs and arms do you leap forward when you need to? Where do you find the strength to bring about calmness, and also frantic energy in your body? This workshop practice is created to enable performers to be exposed to various aspects of performance that is through physical practice, understanding of the body and also by learning to characterize their movement. The use of physical rigor as well as conceptually being aware of what and why one applies a particular movement in their training, preparation for a character, or in their approach to a dance part, is a balance that this workshop is made to find. The intensive compels you to ask yourself integral questions as why do you perform, how do you perform, and who your audience are. The module draws principles from Dance, Theatre, Sports, Martial arts, and other movement forms. It is set to offer participants a varied set of tools to enhance their performing bodies whereby they can build their own movement vocabulary or language through their performance. It is not a fitness regime.
